2354 Ezri Tigan is born on Trill. She grows up in the New Sydney colony in the Sappora system.
2372 Ezri attends the Starfleet Academy Medical Program as she wants to work as a counselor later.
2374 To finalize her eduction, Ensign Tigan is assigned to the supply ship USS Destiny for field training as assistant counselor.

   March During a routine mission to Trill, an incident occurs aboard the Destiny. The transported Dax symbiont, which is brought back to Trill to rejoin another host after Jadzia Dax' death, destabilizes enough to make an immediate retransplation necessary. Ezri is the only not joined Trill at the right age aboard, however, she has neither the required training nor does she want to join to a symbiont. Yet, she agrees with the transplation to save the Dax symbiont. A 15 minute introduction by the surgeon is the only preparation she gets for this life-changing intervention.
    After she joined to the symbiont, Ensign Ezri Dax discontinues her still not completed education and starts searching for her "former friend", Captain Benjamin Sisko. She finds Sisko on Earth and accompanies him to a mission to Tyree.
Subsequently, she returns to Deep Space Nine with him in order to familiarize with her "former life" again.
   May After Captain Sisko has talked with Starfleet Medical on that matter, the remaining time of Ezri's education is waived due to the special circumstances; she is promoted to couneslor and lieutenant j.g. Moreover, she is appointed station counselor of Deep Space Nine.
